You first put the sprayer into the bottle. It snaps on. Next, put that little round ring over the sprayer. It does not fit down over the sprayer at this time, but it still fits tight enough to stay in place. The crimper is open at the end, and it fits over the sprayer and ring. Place the crimper in place and press down with the palm of your hand. This takes a bit of strength to press. You will feel the ring snap into place at this point. The crimper is made for you to apply pressure with the palm of your hand. You might need to adjust the height of the crimper so that it fits your hand well. You adjust it by screwing the top up or down.
